New Batts - time to bite the bullet
Since the conventional wisdom around here is that the 4x12v Precedent setup should last about 5 years on a set of batts, I was determined that I was going to squeeze 6 out of them. And given that mine is a golf course rescue that I have no idea of the care and history of for the first four years, I think 6 years was pretty good. But, they are shot now. Not a lot of choices where I live. I have to go 45 miles to get any at all and what is available are Trojan T-1275's at $169 each. I found them cheaper last summer at $152 but messed around and didn't buy them and they are now 4 hours away from me. These as good as any, better than most choice for my cart? Anything to be significantly gained by upgrading the cables at the same time?

Try your local auto mechanic, they can get any battery you need. I got mine from my trusted local auto repair shop.
As far as wires, scottyb makes a great product. A little more pricey, but the quality is worth it and they will probably last the life of the cart. I got his 2 gage cables and they never get warm.
