Converter Question
Still trying to narrow down some issues.
Had line that powers the 3 wire converter and volt meter tied into the secondary side of the switch on my '07 Precedent. I posted about the meter reading fluctuating before. Here is where I am now... Meter died... Replaced it with a Scottyb's meter and trim plate. It works great and looks great. I wired it to the primary side of the switch so it is on all of the time. I moved the power wire of the converter to the battery pack with the 48v line feed. I thought I might have some resistance in the switch causing the voltage fluctuation. Here are the results... Full charge 50.9. After 4 days uplugged from charger with no use of the cart. Meter reads 50.4 and fluctuates back and forth fairly rapidly from 50.4 to 50.3. Day 5... Meter fluctuates back and forth from 50.3 to 50.2. I unplugged the power feed to the from the battery pack to the converter and fluctuation stops. Thought??? Converter faulty??? Should the converter/volt meter draw it down 10% over 4 days with no use??? |

Re: Converter Question
50.9 to 50.4 in a few days is considered normal. I can't help you with your fluctuation issues. The newer the battery pack, the slower the voltage drop. I keep my converter off when not using the cart. My meter is powered by 8 AA batteries and I use a rocker switch to turn it on and off.
