Default 12" Wheels and Tires on CC Precedent

Hi All! First post here. I recently purchased a 2009 CC Precedent with standard wheels and tires and am looking to upgrade. I have visited many suppliers websites, but I am still confused about what will and will not work with my cart.

I want to purchase 12" wheels and go with low profile tires. I am keeping the cart standard with no lift kit.

I have read some wheels will "rub" and modifications might need to be made. I contacted Tony at Stretch and he said the 2+5 offsets will rub, but I read on other sites that is the offset you want with the Precedent.

In short, does anyone have any experience installing 12" wheels on a non lifted Precedent and if so, what, if any, issues did you run into?

Thanks!

Check some threads in the "on road carts" section. I have write up in there and so does Offtwice. We are running 12 inch wheels and no lift. you will probably have to trim a wire shield in the passenger side front wheel well

If it sticks out of the fender area it will rub, trust me I know. There is a real easy lift for the front, just using shims that will fix the rub, but the back is not so simple. It involves a spring over lift that will make those wheels look stupid, I know from experience. If I had it to do over, I would do a 3" lift and get 20 inch tires on 12 " rims. The other thing is it will throw mud and crap up into the passenger area, trust me I know.

My car looks like a dragster now cuz I left the 12' low profiles in front with a shim lift and I did a spring over axel lift in back with some 20 inch tires on 12' rims. It looks good now and does not rub but it has a little slant. I kinda like it, but think I would rather have a cleaner look whith all tires the same size.
I have not matched the front to back cuz if I raise the front I do not think it would fit in my cargo trailer.

Thanks for all of the responses. I probably should have told you guys that my cart is for the golf course and I really do not want to install a lift kit.

Offtwice - and Hornsta - Do you know if your rims are offset in any fashion, 3+4 or 2+5?

Thanks,

Mine were 2-5 and My cart is golf course only. It did not rub on the street but there are a lot of bumps on the course which caused the rubbing, especially with two riders.
