Batteries discharge too quick

2002 CC DS has two year old batteries that all check out good. Runs good when fully charged but barely lasts 18 holes. Assuming the batteries and all connections are good, could the problem be brushes? 2002 with origional motor and brushes never replaced.

Attach a voltmeter to your battery pack and monitor the voltage while operating the cart.

Find the State of Charge chart on this site and compare the numbers to what you're reading.

I'd almost bet that you have a bad battery, if everything else is as you say. The only exception would be if you're not getting the pack fully charged.

Thanks for the help. Just checked the fully charged battery pack after charger shut off for about an hour. 49.6 volts. Individual batteries from 8.2 to 8.5. Does that sound like it didn't charge high enough? Checked the voltage when charger was on. 56.5 volts. Does that sound right? Could the OBC be shutting off the charger too soon? Also checked hydrometer and it went off the scale.

Drive it once around the block and recharge. The charger cut off voltage is around 63v, check it out.

Just put the charger back on and it appaers that the charger is only putting out 56.6 volts. It's an old Powerdrive charger. Is that enough voltage? I put the voltmeter leads on the positive and negative leads on the pack.

It does sound like you are not getting a 100% full charge.

Ok, after second charge I'm getting 51.5 volts. Thats better. Have to see if it last longer now

Get another DVM to double check the one you're using. Although I've not done extensive comparisons, I have a bunch of DVMs, and they don't necessarily give the same readings. As the old saying goes, "A man with a watch knows what time it is, but a man with 2 watches has no idea".

That's only somewhat a joke.

It sounds like you're on the right track.
