Default On vacation with sick 96 DS...Help?!

We are at Disney with the family with the cart and I am having issues..again..

Here is what we have (what we have done):

-1996 DS 48 volt
-New batteries
-new 4 gauge cables
-6" lift
-10" wheels, 22" tires
-new HD f & R Switch

Here is what is happening:

My top speed dropped from 17/18 to 13/14 mph overnight a few weeks ago....

I have adjusted and tested the potentiometer, and it checks out 0-5..so I'm guessing that is good.

We have no hills or slopes in our neighborhood, but we are at a campground with a long slight grade and this cart absolutely crawls up this hill..Speed drops to 5 or 6 mph..

After cruising a little last night, I thought I could hear a 'clicking' noise from under the floor boards..could have just as well been from under the seat as far as that goes..

Sooooo..Where can I go from here? Would a bad solenoid cause this dramatic power loss? Bad motor?

I will say it did this SAME thing 6 months ago before we put new batteries in..(hence the reason for changing them out)..

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated..

Thank you in advance!

Ryan

I had a very similar problem after putting in new 8v batts. I found it was one brand new battery that was not holding power under a load.

Any chance you have a volt meter reading your battery pack or your DVM with you so you can measure the battery pack while driving? Or if you have your DVM, measure each battery right after driving it. If there is a bad one, sometimes you can find it that way too.

Mine would drop after a full charge almost immediately.

Good luck
