Yes, its pretty easy to do in FL. Call the motor vehicle compliance office and have them send you the package. It contains the rules and affidavits you'll need to fill out for an ASPT golf cart. Down here in SE FL all the office cared about was the paperwork being correct. The only time they looked at my cart was to attach the VIN. They were very precise with the paper though. Don't give them more than they ask for. Make sure you have an original reciept for the cart that details any item that the state's list call for. For example, my receitp for purchase of the cart stated on it that it had headlights, tail lights and horn. Anything not on the original cart will need an original receipt. Ebay and Paypal don't count. I had to call a few stores to get acceptable ones. The only other big hold up was the receipts need to be stamped paid. The gal at the compliance office showed me where the law said that but since it didn't say who had to stamp it, she sent me to the local Staples and my papers all got stamped. True story

Once you get the VIN you have to go to the tax office to register it and get a tag. You'll need insurance. USAA has mine.

Thanks for the info. my problem is the police don't know an LSV from a regular cart, said they will give me a ticket if they catch me on the road. I can't find any law in this county about LSV's. I live in Flagler County.

Carry a COPY of the paperwork (or request a second set to give to them) the state sends you to the local police department. Once they have the paperwork, you have the cart insured, and a have legal state tag on the cart, they will be in violation of the law if they write you a ticket since you will be driving a legally insured and tagged state recognized vehicle.

Even if you get it Legal, it sounds like they have it out for you so, they may jack with you anytime they see you on it. Did they catch you out after dark?

If Flagler County is in Florida, and the State of Florida gives you license plates for your vehicle, you can drive it in Flagler County legally. They may hassle you, but you will be legal and will win in court.

Yes, and I told you the solution to it. YOU have to give them the information they are lacking or unwilling to get for themselves.

Exactly! NO county employee can override STATE LAW, I don't care who they think they are.

I'm going to put it to you this way...

Since YOU want to drive your street legal cart on the road YOU are going to have to educate the Police Department on the subject!
