Default 2002? club car trips charger...

My 2002? club car trips the breaker on the charger....
This may sound dumb but I don't really know if it's a 02' or not how do I find out?
I also do not know if it's 48v or 36.... it has 6 batteries and all of them have fluid in them.
I've made no mods or ever had previous issues.
I'd appreciate you help... awesome forum BTW.

Welcome to the forum timgman..................

We need numbers first. Look under the dash where the floor mat meets the backside of the dash, for a plate or a plastic decal. The number will start with a letter. What does it read?

Does each battery have 3 or 4 filler hole caps?

According to the numbers you provided it is a 2001 Club Car DS, produced in the very first week of Jan of 2001.

The charger tripping sounds like a bad battery connection, bad battery or possibly wired incorrecly. Take a voltage reading of all the batterie individually and post the numbers. While your there, clean all your connections one at a time and put the right back on.

Yes, use a volt meter. Write down the voltage of each battey and post the numbers. If they are the original batteries the chances of one being bad is pretty good. It also looks like there are some mis-matched batteries. Not that it is a "bad thing" but it can cause battery issues.

You said "conduction grease"......that is just grease, it does nothiing to "conduct". It is there to help keep corrosion to a minimum by not allowing air in. You need to check all your connections whether they "look" good or not.

When you find a suspect battery you can check it with a load tester to see if its any good. Some auto parts house's have load testers and will check it for free.

Also those chargers have a bad habit of throwing the diode out in the charger, that will flip the charger every time. The parts are not too expensive.

This may make sense ... the cart had no issues until it's last charge. I'm going to test the batteries later today anyway... where is the diode that is in question? is there a how-to.. I'll search this forum and google it thanks timg

Inside on the back of charger, 3 wires hooked on it. Left side on back as looking at front of charger.
