Bad solenoid?
Hey fellas,
I had a problem with my 1995 DS 48v. I left the house fully charged, drove about 3 miles. I stopped for a minute, and next time I hit the pedal, nothing. The solenoid was not engaging. Put it on a charger, and it was taking a full charge. Towed it home, and went to work. Roughly 50v across the batteries, so it is not holding a charge. There is 50v from the pot all the way to the small white with black wire on the solenoid. The solenoid has power from the battey pack(50v). The top thick yellow wire varies from 2 to about 20v whether the pedal is pressed or not. It has given several different voltages in the past hour. I jumped the solenoid, and the cart moves. Has to be a bad solenoid, doesn't it. I just wanted to check with the experts before I buy the solenoid. Unfortunately, when i was taking wires off the microswitch the input for the reverse buzzer broke off. Now I need a new switch. Now I'll go out and plug into the charger again so I don't need batteries, too. If this is all it is, it's not to bad of a day. |
