Pulling off rear brake drum/hub. Little help please
Hi gang,
2002 DS IQ CC. I removed my rear driver tire and trying to pull of the brake drum. Is there something holding it in place that I need to remove or loosen? Do I need to remove the brake cable? It moves a little trying to pry between the hub mount but even with a rubber mallet, cant seem to get the thing to slide off. I have the brakes peddle not set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, |

Re: Pulling off rear brake drum/hub. Little help please
okay, thanks.
I took the nut off the back (pretty sure it is the adjustment) behind the rubber bushing and where the brake cable attaches and the drum got looser but still would not come all the way off. I was able to see the pads were starting to slide out but as I pried I was damaging the pads a little and the darn drum just seem to get tighter. There is probably another item on the back side that i need to loosen or remove to get it off. I'm probably just going to have to pry that sucker off and I'm pretty sure I need to brake kits anyway. I hear them rubbing (more on the passenger side) when I drive. It will have to wait for a few weeks as I'm off out of town for the next week then vacation next weekend.. Just trying to get it all fixed as I have ordered me some new wheels and tires that should be here shortly.. thanks again. |
