Default acid

Has anyone ever tried adding acid to a battery to try and extend the life?
Does it work?

Adding acid will get a dead cell to pass more current, but it will not prolong the life of a good battery. In fact it is damaging to the plates to have too high a concentration of acid!

Not a good idea. There is no way around a warn out battery other than replacement.

I remember making a battery that used vinegar for an electrolyte. It was in grade school science class. I don't remember what the electrodes were, though.
