Default Charger Pegs out on 2008 DS

I just purchased a 2008 Club car DS. Right off the truck the cart runs great and seems to work well. After very little use I plugged the charger in the it pegged out immediately and after a few minutes it drops to nothing like it is resetting. Shortly thereafter it comes back on and pegs out again.

Any thoughts?

. . . after it "pegs out" the second time, does it seem to charge normally after that? What type/model charger is it?

After it "reset" itself twice and continued to peg out I got worried and just unplugged the charger. The charger is a club car.

This kind of seems normal.
It should come off and back on at the beginning of its cycle.

This is a normal test cycle for the power drive club car charger...should only cut off once...then immediately cut back on and peg out and then slowly work it's way down as it charges.

It is pegged out but continues to cut off multiple times. The amount of time it stays charging pegged out varies but it is either wide open or shut off. There is no gradual reduction in the amps.

Perfectly normal. The newer On board computers will make chargers re-calibrate over and over and over again throughout the charge cycle. Plug it in and let it finish.

Thanks for the help. I let it continue to cycle and it then went into a normal charge.
