1991 DS Has no Power Up Hills
My 1991 DS Club Car has developed the "slows"! It runs half speed on the flat, and comes to a stop going up even the slightest incline. The batteries are 2 two years old, and voltage (at stop) is 38.2. The cart is seldom used, but (as usual) things don't work if they set a long time. The wiper switch has full range, and the resistor coils appear to be connected.
I will test the batteries with a hydrometer to make sure that the batteries are good. but I did the cheater test using the volt meter in each cell and got progressive and equal volts as I advanced through each cell. BTW... Does anyone have a trouble shooting punch list that could walk me through the testing of the cart wiring? Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 1991 DS Has no Power Up Hills
. . . you seem to be checking the right things . . . you need to load test the batteries . . . even at 2 years old, you could have a bad cell that can hold a charge, but fails under load . . . one bad cell/battery will bring the whole pack down under load . . . use alligator clips on your volt meter, attach to first negative and last positive terminal on pack, and drive it to see what it is dropping down to under load . . .

Is there a common spot(s) that humidity effect electrical contacts? We have been getting more rainy days here in SoCal than normal? |
