Question 05' Precedent lift/tire combo

Been looking for a few days at lift kit/tire combos for my 05' Precedent. I'm limited on the height because of the shed door. I want to use the Jake's 3" spindle lift and 22x11-12 tires/rims. I found this pic of a cart in a list of Jake's customer carts that says they are using the 3" lift with 22x11x10s.
Am I crazy or aren't 22x11-12's the same height? Couldn't I use the 12" rims on mine?

I think 22" tall tires are too much for a 3" lift. I have a Precedent with a 3" lift and use 20" tall tires. There is about 1 1/2" of room left on the rear end. The front can handle that size, though (I think). Perhaps installing HD leaf springs in the rear, that would give you about an inch or two of additional height.

Also, you are correct 22x11x10 is the same height as 22x11x12.

Hope this helps.

Steve,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have the pics of your cart and the pic I added in the original post pulled up and keep looking at them side by side. It's hard to believe that his tires are 22s. They just don't look that big. So you believe that the front won't rub, but the tires may rub in the back when the back seat is used?
I wish I could go to a 6" lift but I just don't have the door high enough to get in there. I a little over 5" and sure would like to use as much as I can.

I think they will rub in the back no matter what you do, unless you go with a bigger lift. As far as that pic, I bet they are 20" tires.

You should play it safe and go with 20" tires if you are going to get the 3" lift.
Plus, it just looks good. Kinda like 22-23" tires with a 6" lift.

After looking at pics all over the web, I decided to call Jake's and get their opinion on the largest tire will go on the 3" lift. He quickly said that a 22x11-12 is the max. I emailed another company and they confirmed the same. Gonna take a chance and go with the 22s.
I'll post some pics after I get them installed and test them out. Thanks for the replies and advice. Hoping mine looks as good as yours Steve.

I just finished installing the 3" lift and the 22x11-12 tires on 12x7 rims. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I added a magnet while I was in there and picked up about 7-8mph. Hoping to get a few more mph after the brand new batteries break in.
As promised, I attached a few pics to show the clearances with the 3" lift and the 22s.

Those 22's look great! I think you just set the new standard for 3" lift on a Precedent. Are you sure there is no rubbing when you turn? I have my wheels and tires on order and will post some pix as well. Did you install HD rear springs? That will give you extra lift in the rear.

No rubbing so far. The one thing I did notice is that the turning radius is not as good. That's how I know it didn't rub. Turning into my shed , I had to make a 3 point turn. It's not terrible, just not used to it yet. I called Jake's before I ordered the wheels And got their ok for the 22s which made me feel better. They were right!!!
