I was at my local cart shop trading some leftover parts for some new wheels (different story) and he started to check my front end. I asked him why? He said because "Jakes" spindle lifts wear out after a few years and need a "king pin" kit to fix the "sloppiness" problem that developes. Turns out, mine are fine. So, if you didn't get it fixed yet, the king pin kit sold by Jakes will solve your problem.

Hope this helps?

Mine went from tight to sloppy changing from stock to a new Jake's 3" spindle lift. When jacked up, it doesn't feel like their is a lot of play, but it is noticeable driving it. Is this common?

I spoke with a guy from jakes and was told that the 3" and 6" spindle lifts have the wrong king pin. He said they were aware of the issues that I as well as many others are having. My lift was 6 months old when I contacted them about my issues and was told I could by a new king pin set to solve the problem. So my question was if you know there is a problem and have solved the problem would that be a recall?? I mean are you freaking serious!!!! You purchase their product only to have a problem and then have to buy something else to fix it!!!! WOW. Not a happy carter!!!!

Did you not complain and not demand a replacement? How much for the correct parts?

I was on the phone with them this morning. The lady told me they did not have the wrong kingpin. she said they use to have the owner use the original CC kingpin and it didn't have "bump steer" (not sure what that is). She said the ones included in the kits is the correct kingpin with "bump steer"(??). Mine did have them included. Waiting on one of the guys to call me back and see if we can figure our what is going on. I changed tires and wheels at the same time as installing the lift. I may put my stock wheels and tire back on to see if the problem persist and try to narrow it down.

I put a 6" lift on my DS only to find out a few months there was extrem wear so I tought after checking all parts on disassembling I found the parts to be mixed such as Metric bolts in bushings that were to large i made my own bushings for american bolts and fixed all the slop in the offshore S---.
