If it's like mine, the spades are two different sizes, so you can only connect them one way.

I am doing a upgrade to 500 amp Alltrax and 400 amp solenoid. Does not have spade connectors. Need to know which is positive for diode
Talked to Scottyb he said leave diode off till I can ckeck with a meter he wasn't for sure on a Precedent.
thanks

I am not sure I understand the question. The solenoid does not have a positive or negative it depends on how you hook up your wires.
On mine I have the main positive going to the large terminal on the right and the large left terminal to the controller. The blue and white wire is connected to the small terminal on the left side. Solid blue to small terminal on right side.

You will install the diode according to how you install your wires on the terminals. The band side o the diode goes to the solid blue side on the small terminal and the other to the blue/white terminal.

Is this what you are asking? I could post a picture of mine if that would help.

Question Re: 09 precedent IQ wiring

Speedchaser,

I was told just the opposite from Ron at Alltraxinc.com yesterday while installing my 500amp controller on my 06 Precedent. I have it hooked up with the blue/white as the positive (diode band side) and the blue as the negative.

I just posted a thread about not really being impressed with the new controller with everything else being in good condition. Could this diode being wired incorrectly harm my performance? I don't believe so but I honestly don't understand exactly what that diode does.

If I have it backwards per Ron, can I simply reverse the wires or have I now damaged that diode?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Exclamation Re: 09 precedent IQ wiring

MY APOLOGIES!

I got that wrong. I just rechecked my notes and Ron at Alltraxinc. DID NOT TELL ME THE BLUE/WHITE WAS POSITIVE. It is NEGATIVE. The Blue wire is the positive and the diode band side should be connected to whichever terminal on the solenoid that the solid blue wire is connected to. There is no right or wrong with regard to which terminal you choose so long as the blue whire and the diode band are on the same side.

Again, MY APOLOGIES!

Ok got everything installed 500 Alltrax, 400 amp solenoid, 2 ga. cables. Took diode off for testing per Scottyb. The solid blue wire was the postive as Speed said. With the cart on blocks turn key on hear solenoid click than a short time later a lighter click. While pressing on go pedal hear a faint click from MCOR than another click from what I figure is the controller than power to rear wheel. Does all this sound correct? Also the pedal goes close to half way down before any power. Is there a adjustment for this or is that norm. ?
Thanks to all the good info. on this forum that got me thru this.
