Default 96 Club Car adjust speed

Hi,

I have a 96 electric Club Car I just brought from an old lady. The cart is in great condition everything runs well except it doesn't drive that fast. Is there an easy way to get my cart to go faster? I'm new to the golf cart scene but I'm pretty handy.

Thanks

Angel

You need to tell us whether it is a 36v or 48v cart for us to give you good upgrade suggestions. There is no " easy way " but if you have the cash these carts can be made to move.

If it has a potentiometer, I would check it first. On my old 96, someone had turned mine all the way down, so I was only getting 9 mph. I turned it all the way up and got up to 15 mph!
That would be the first free thing I would check.
I was pretty impressed with my 1996 bone stock 48v once I turned up the pot box.
By the way, it is a black box under the accelerator pedal under the cart.

Thanks Jake, I'll check it out and post my results.

I read somewhere about getting the speed code changed. Do you know if that's possible on a 96?

The 69 is a Series cart, the speed codes are for the Sepex drive systems.
You can check the pot output at the controller input with an Ω meter
Should read 5k-0 through the full stroke of the pedal.
