Default More Club Car charging with non Club Car charger

Ok guys I've seen one post that started down this path but died and tried to do a lot of research myself but I'm stumped. $300 would fix the problem but this is a last ditch effort to avoid that.
The question is should I buy an aftermarket smart charger for about the same price as a new OBC or is there something I can do to fix this by disconnecting the OBC or something else?
Details: I have a 36v Club car AB0120-017288 currently charging with Ez go crows foot charger LR69689 -36v 21 ADC. It's what I ended up with I'm afraid.
It charges great and properly, stepping down and turning off when batteries are charged. The problem is, if I let it sit there for months it won't detect natural discharge and charge the batteries. Unplug the crowsfoot and replug and it works fine. It just has to be reset that way.
I dont want to mess around with the OBC other than rewiring or disconnecting it.
A aftermarket charger and a disconnected OBC would fix the problem but maybe the ez go charger is "smart".
Help please!

You will have to get a battery charger that is also a maintainer and eliminate the OBC in order to have a system that keeps itself charged up when left idle.

Are you sure you have an obc, I thought I read somewhere that a 36 volt cart did not have an obc.

That is right. Only 48v carts had the OBC

Check out this insult; I charge my G-2 Yamaha with a 36 volt power wise charger.

Sorry about the OBC mistake- I tried to research it but lack of manuals and etc, I led myself down the wrong path. Thanks for the charger info, that's about what I figured. Now I'm considering a timed relay to break the charger outgoing cord - it would be like unplugging and replugging. I'm cheap....
