Default solenoid sound

Ok guys, I have the batteries in,charged and the motor is running forward and reverse. My question is should I hear 5 different clicks as the pedal is depressed?I asking because it seems to me it should be going a little faster, and I only hear 4 and, only three are distinctive.there are 5 all together and the cart is a 1974-1980 club car. thanks

These 5 solenoids are controlled by a set of micro switches on a drum under the front cowl of the cart which is connected to accelerator pedal and has ramps or risers or what ever you choose to call them to turn the switches according to the pedal position. If you have to work on this drum just take the front cowl off to begin with and save a lot of neck strain trying to see and get at it. You will need to check to see that each solenoid is getting activation voltage as you depress the pedal a little bit at a time. The first solenoid is the master or turn on solenoid and the next 4 are the ones that control the speed by going through progressive resistors until # 5 feeds it straight through to the motor. Complicated but not a deadly setup. Causes lot of head scratching and time consuming to check. Solenoids do get expensive at $35-50 a pop.
