Nedding advice on a good 48v charger//
I am bypassing my OBC since it's shot, so I was wondering if I could get some feedback on a good dependable 48v charger? and also where to purchase it.

Ditto on ScottyB. I put heavy duty alligator clips on mine. Will work with any 48v application.

Hi Guys
I'm in the same boat...I'm a newbie and bought a 98 club car with the OBC bypassed and a timer added to the charger so that you can guess how much time to charge the batteries...What a poor system! Anyway now the batteries are dying and I need to replace them and I'm really torn on buying a charger like the one mentioned in this thread that ScottyB sells or replacing the OBC ...I sure would appreciate any views on this from anybody that has gone through this problem. |

Re: Nedding advice on a good 48v charger//
Welcome Gringo,
A smart charger with a transformer is the best solution I know of. Our DPI charger is also a maintainer which is another advantage. But, if you are looking to save $ you could get a new smart charge board for your CC charger. I have not tried them but I hear the replacement board makes the charger work like a 'normal' charger that shuts off at a given limit. Not sure of how well they work but I have heard positive things. That is by far the least expensive thing you can do. Check out the DPI charger. maintainer here > http://cartsunlimited.net/48v_Battery_Charger.html |
