Default Motor Whine

Hey everyone I have a 1999 Club Car 48V with the regen system. Does anyone know if the whine the motor makes when you first push on the pedal before the drive motor engages is normal or something not quite right. Either way is there anything that can be done to silence it?

Hey Hunter1 welcome to BGW. May I suggest some cheese to go with that whine.

Does it whine when you fully press the pedal from a dead stop? My 2000 club car does that from time to time, however, if I let off the pedal and let the cart start out in a lower gear the whine goes away. Not that I have the answer as to why it does that!!! Hopefully someone here can give you some useful information.

It starts the whine as soon as the solenoid clicks and right up to the point the cart starts to move. It might still be making the noise once moving but otherr noises might be masking it.

If the whine is sounding before the cart is moving, it is NOT coming from the rear axle assembly.

If it is a whine that does not vary with the speed of the cart, chances are, it is probably coming from the controller.

It is the heavy current switching semiconductors. It is somewhat normal, but not all sound off where you can hear them.
