01 club car parking brake pawl 48v

symptoms :
parking brake engages at first detent only
slightest touch on brake or accelerator releases the parking brake
brake shoes were replaced and adjusted within the last month
cart repair shop stated that bushings were worn , but they did not replace.

i would hate to pay another $50.00 pickup and delivery charge and $90 / hour labor charge for something i may be able to repair for a parts charge.

any guidance in the proper repair and parts procurement ?

i just found the forum and appreciate all the comments and tips

If you look under the cart under the brake pedal, you will see a threaded rod with two bolts on it. You can adjust these until you get it to where you want it. It will make it so the pedal locks in multiple positions like it should.

thanks for the advice , i will check it out today. do you lengthen or shorten the rod ? also , mechanic made reference to worn bushings ? any comments on that information ? also i have not been able to find the rod on the internet. thanks agiain for the quick reply.

parking pawl was heavily worn , so i replaced the pawl and the adjusting rod. works fine with TWO detents now.
