Default Solenoid problem

2001 Club Car DS 36V V-glide

My cart seemed a little sluggish and would go F&R without the key on...So after some reading I thought it might be the solenoid. So I tapped on it a little and then the cart ran better than ever for about 10 min...Now it won't go forward or reverse at all. I hear a click when I press the gas pedal and my charge on the batteries is good.

Is it just my solenoid that needs to be replaced or is it the F&R switch too is my question?

Thanks in advance. Love this forum it has been a Godsend for me when it comes to troubleshooting my cart.

It seems to me that if the cart goes okay after you tap the solenoid that it is not making good contact sometimes and needs replacing.

Thanks for the feedback ScottyB...

I have a question...What kind of upgrade do you recommend to make my cart go faster? Street use only with 2-3 extra riders. I have stock tires and like I said before my cart specs are:

2001 Club Car DS 36V series

Which bundled package would you recommend from your website?

A 2001 36v Club Car is a resistor coil cart. These carts were produced for the golf course fleets long after the private industry was using modern solid state speed control or controller carts.
The resistor carts can not be upgraded, they must be converted to solid state in order to improve their performance. You can read about this conversion process, what's involved and why you need it on my website cartsunlimited.net just click on one of the links below.
