Default Confused about voltage

Hi Everyone,

I purchased a 96 Club Car DS from an old lady and was told it was a 48v. Now that I pulled of the body to get it painted, I noticed the motor is a GE 36v 3000 rpm. Am I missing something? The cart has six brand new 8v Trojan batteries.

I'm also looking to increase my speed, that's why I'm confused.

You can run 48 volts on a 36 volt motor gives you more speed and torque

What kind of charger do you have? 36 or 48v?

I just purchased a 2001 Club Car DS with NO batteries so I'm still trying to figure out what kind of batteries it takes. I'll follow your post.
