Default Stripped Gears?

My kid and his friend were driving my cart too agressively by going from reverse to forward or vice versa without letting the cart come to a stop or from the cart being overloaded.

I am guessing the gears have been stripped. Can I replace them myself? Or would it be better to take the cart to a local club car dealer?

well if the gears were striped, it would not be going at all,, not moving slow,, have you pulled the pan on the rear and took a look??, and yes the gears can be changed , if that is it

Between the rear wheels in the center

I dont think your gears are stripped if they were you cart would not be slow it would be either making a horrible noise from the rear and would still move or it would make that same noise and not move at all.

More likely the cart needs to be charged up.

Also if you do decide to remove the cover on the differential know that it is filled with gear lube/oil and you will need a drain pan and new oil to refill it.

Have you tried Moving
the tow run switch to tow for about 10 sec. Or disconnect the battery pack for a few min. This should give you a power up reset.

This is a resistor coil cart, no controller to reboot. Maybe something wrong with the V glide = not giving full throttle signal? Open it up and see if the wiper still goes all the way to the top? If the V-glide is okay maybe the F&R contacts are cooked?

Do I need a whole new V-glide assembly or just a new wiper brush if that's the problem?

If it turns out to be the F/R switch contacts do I need a whole new assembly or just the micro switch?

Maybe , maybe not,, some times you can sand them and clean up the contacts and it will repair it, but you will know untill you get it apart and inspect it
