Can i put 25" tires on 06 precedent
I have a 06 Precedent that has the speed code 4 on it but the rest of the cart is stock. I just bought 5 Carlisle tires and rims.(25x10.5x12) Three were new and two were used pretty good, but I got a really good deal on them. Just wondering what the pros and cons there are by running these tires. I also want to know if a 6" lift would be enough for those tires. Thanks

Re: Can i put 25" tires on 06 precedent
Well that's where I need some help. I can't put them on until I get a lift kit. Is a 6" lift gonna be enough? Are those big tires gonna be to big for a stock cart? I can always resell the tires if I had to, I only gave 150 for all.

Re: Can i put 25" tires on 06 precedent
Jmor I am running 23 inch tires with 12 inch wheels and also a 6 inch lift on a 2007 precedent and the only thing I had an issue was back tires rubbed when hit bumps.
I would also say that you will need to put HD springs on back to prevent the tire rubbing it took care of mine. I have read post where someone shaved the molding in front of the back tires and it didnt look bad. So I guess its dealers choice on the two choices the HD springs will run you about $125. for the set I am running a stock controller and with the bigger wheels I am hitting 18mph I bought a another stock controller with speed code 4 programmed, soon as it gets here I will install it curios what my speed will be. I say install the lift and tires. |

Re: Can i put 25" tires on 06 precedent
Thanks so much for that info dadog. My major concern was running that tire and messing up my controller. I'm already getting 18-20 with stock tires, so I'm also very curious on what's gonna happen. I'm gonna try and get it this week, so I'll keep y'all posted.

I would say the only thing you will notice a difference in with the bigger tires will be torque.
I have more speed but also noticed less torque, so depending on what your plans are with your cart if the stock controller will make you happy. I will eventually upgrade to bigger controller and componets when I can afford but for cruising town stock controller works fine with my lift and bigger tires. |
