Default 90 club car power problems

Hey guys. I have a 90 club car that i just put new batteries and a new v glide in. It ran great for about 2 days, now it is smoking from the v glide and it only has one speed which is full throttle. Im kind of stumped on this one. It heats the coils up to the point of smoking and is starting to melt the plastic coating off the wires where they bolt on to the board of the resistors. It is also sparking on the contacts of the v glide.

I would appreciate any tips or pointers!

It sounds like you have a 36v resistor cart? Did you stay with 36v batteries or add 48v? The resistors will not tolerate 48v, if its still 36v then I would would check all my connections to see if something was loose. A loose connection would cause high amperage which could cause things to melt.

Thanks for the reply! I kept it at 36v. I will double check all the connections.
