if you are going to run an accessory battery or from part of the pack (memory) then you will want the red lead connected to a switch so it can go into stand-by when the cart is off. Either use the key if there is a 12v connection or another rocker switch.
If you don't want to take the chance of draining the battery, then they can both be connected to same 12v source on a switch.

Mine is connected to a 36v to 12v 30amp reducer. It turns on with the key switch and I don't worry about memory.... I usually just listen to cd or driod.
well made a little progress lol air horn installed ;)

Hey Zenzilla,

Did you buy the underglow lights already wired up or did you buy the roll and wire them yourself?
I just got my roll 16ft in the mail. Just started cutting to length and about to solder the wires...

I heard mixed reviews of those leds. Thought I would by some ready to install and the more I research, the more I want to do it DIY!
So, after getting quotes on a few strips, I went with the roll of 16ft. Shouldn't be much of a problem to get them working. Already tested them on an empty switch I have on the cart. LEDs work and the remote for modes work. Just need to solder the wires and start installing them under the cart.
Do you just use the 3m tape on the strips or did you use some help?
I'm thinking of using some silicone to help hold them tight. The underbelly of my cart is not the cleanest...

Yes I also tossed that idea around a lot and figured if these poop out on me I will DIY for sure! These are encased in plaStic sleeve so I wire tied them and sounds like your underbody looks like mine did lol such a pain to clean where people don't see. I may add more because the lights don't show in the wheel wells much.
