Default Controller on 2007 club car ds 48v iq

I have a 2007 cc ds iq converted to a hunting cart and I am needing a little more torque. I was wondering what size stock controller came on this cart. Also what size controller do I need to upgrade to? I am not planning on replacing my motor right now. The place where i bought this cart is no longer in business. I do know the guy said he did not set it to the fastest setting. Thanks for the help.

It should have a 250 amp Curtis in it. Speed code 4 for $100 will get you 19.6 mph and some pretty decent torque for pulling hills (I think). My cart is bone stock with speed code 4 and I think it does just fine. I have heard that a 500 amp controller will majorly boost your speed and torque...

PS Welcome to the forum... You have come to the best place for golf cart repair!
