Default 99 clubcar wiring issue

I have a 99 Club Car resistor cart. The motor engages as soon as the switch is turned on. the cart moves a little but doesn't go until the pedal is pressed. Also the resistor coils get really hot when the cart is just sitting their with the switch on

Does this cart have a v-glide? My guess is that the v-glide might be slightly engauged all the time...so when you turn on the cart, it starts to move. This could also cause the resistors to heat up, since its drawing power the entire time. Take the cover off the v-glide and make sure it goes all the way back to the starting position. If not, there is an adjustment you can make to make it return to the bottom.

It sounds like a solenoid may be stuck in the on position...

What kind of noise? Does the cart still drive and run?
