club car with 5 solenoids
I have a club cat with 5 soleniods does each one handle a differant speed?? when i first got it the cart had fully charged batteries but but would not go. i replaced the first one on drivers side and it goes now but slows down after a few yards, if you let off the pedal and then hit it again it will for a little while then slow down again, and it will not go up any kind of hill. HELP please Andy

Re: club car with 5 solenoids
Welcome Andrew! You are right each one of the solenoids does a different speed. Except the one farthest to the driver side - it is a master. Sounds like you may only have one working past the master.

Re: club car with 5 solenoids
Glad you have some electrical back ground- this is not a simple system. In a nut shell there is a microswitch for each solenoid in a metal box at the end of the throttle linkage. Each switch has to work & each solenoid has to work.
The solenoids are 36 volt the automotive solenoid may work for awhile but not for too long. Not more than $10 to 12 bucks each. Last edited by scottyb; 08-31-2008 at 10:34 PM.. Reason: price check |

I searched the site for '5 solenoid cart' and a bunch of stuff came up. We have been thru this with other carts. Here is one thread that may help:

Re: club car with 5 solenoids
Scottyb where can you get solenoids for 5 to 6 bucks each? $22 is the cheapest I`ve found ...I really need to get some that cheap.
Thanks |
