car clicks but does not always move
when i hit the foot pedal. I have a 2005 Precedent Club Car, Electric. I have checked all the cables & they are good & tight. I drove it & then checked to see if the solenoid or any conections were hot & they were not. Thinking the problem might now be in the pedal area, but I have no clue how to check that since it is completely closed in. What can I do to fix my cart?

PT,
If it always clicks when you press the pedal, but doesn't always move, the problem is likely a bad solenoid. You're implying that the cart does move sometimes, is that correct? |

Re: car clicks but does not always move
I took my foot pedal assembly apart and cleaned everything and greased every moving part that I could.
I also used air nozzle on the wiring put back together and everything worked smoother. I would agree with jdunmyer that the solenoid could be bad but would not hurt to clean and grease your pedal assembly. |

Re: car clicks but does not always move
Yes, it does go, but not just by pushing the pedal, I have to pump the pedal & hit the right spot it seems before it will move.... Would the solinode get hot after running it for a while if it was bad? How much trouble is it to take the pedal apart & clean all since mine is completely closed in?

Re: car clicks but does not always move
Yes, the solenoid might get hot, but not necessarily. It's not uncommon for them to get intermittent as they fail.
One way to check it is to jack up the rear of the cart, press down on the pedal until the solenoid clicks, then check for voltage on both big terminals, with the Minus lead of your meter on the main Minus connection on your battery pack. The reading should be full pack voltage on both sides. If the motor doesn't run, you'll see voltage on only one side, and jumpering the thing will cause the motor to run. You'll also have a big spark when you do this. Again, if the solenoid clicks, the pedal assembly is probably OK. |

Re: car clicks but does not always move
If the solenoid has a precharge resistor you will read 48v on both big posts all the time.
Can you test your throttle MCOR output signal? |
