Club Car wont run
Looking at possibly buying a 97 club car and this is what I was told about the cart:
The newer cart has 36V in it, but has a 48V charging jack, so that may be the issue. When I turn the key and engage drive or reverse, it makes a noise, but has no go What does it sound like may be the issue here? Thanks |

Re: Club Car wont run
Not enough info.
Go look at the cart take a multi meter with you, look at the motor and see if it is a 36volt or a 48volt. Measure the pack and see what voltage each battery is and the total voltage. Get the serial# and check it here in the stickys to tell what you have. Take pictures, lots of them, of everything. What is the asking price of said cart? Report back here with what you find. |

Dead batteries, flat tire, bad motor. Need more info, just brought the 97 48v out of hibernation with some issues, but it now moves

Re: Club Car wont run
You want to make sure it is a series drive cart. Steer clear of the Regen I and Regen II carts of that era.

Re: Club Car wont run
I figured it was going to be hard to diagnose. The cart is no where close to me so hard to go look at. He just said he was willing to make a good deal on it and thats really all he told me about the cart so I just figured I would ask and see if anyone has experienced something similar.

Re: Club Car wont run
I just reread this. It is a 48v cart with 36v batteries in it. The batteries must be considered gonners, there may be other issues - may not.
