Electric motor stuck

I have a 1993 Club car 36 volt. I am trying to get the motor out: I have removed the three bolts on the driver side holding the motor to the differential housing along with the bolt on the bottom. The motor shell spins but I cant get the motor free from the differential housing. Is there a trick on getting the motor free.

I took mine off last ween and I hate to tell you but it just slid off real easy. I did notice it had grease on the spline.

If you can see the spline spray some pb blaster done there and let it soak. I have used a rubber mallet and kept working it to get one off. It seems to work better if the whole unit is out of the cart and them tap on the main housing, others may have some better tricks. Good luck

In 2011 I posted the following to the Plum Quick Forums under a tread titled "What You Guys didn't Tell Me":

I did all the research on this forum and others. Made the leap and decided to send my stock motor to PQ for a Bandit.

The end of the story is the Bandit upgrade is great with an increase in speed and more torque. I also upgraded my cables to 4ga and did Robbie's trick with the OBC pass-through by using a 3in length of threaded 5/16 ss.

Now, what you guys didn't tell me is what happens when you finally break the stock motor loose. After wrestling with the motor for 30 minutes and hitting it with a rubber mallet, I'm directly under it when it finally separates from the drive box. The cloud of black death begins to fall from the opening all over my face. I turn my head to keep it out of my eyes and mouth (unsuccessfully) and it begins to fill my ear.

Now a steady stream of obscenities is spewing from my blackened mouth and teeth as I bash my head on the axel trying to get out from under the falling cloud of black death.

After realizing that I'm not in any real danger, my wife nearly wets herself laughing at the sight of me spitting and clawing trying to get the carbon dust out of my eyes, mouth, teeth and ear. It took 3 days.

You guys could have told me.

I had one or two really stuck on. Finally removed the differential with the stuck motor and tapped the end of the axle shaft on the concrete, letting the weight of the motor act as a slide hammer. We did this on the edge of the concrete so the motor could drop onto the soft lawn when it did finally come loose. After a few drops from 2-3 inches the motor plummeted to earth. You sure would not want your foot under it! Crazy but it worked when nothing else would.... good luck.
