Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
. . . there should be 4 to 6 "clip on" mounting feet that fit onto side of unit to match up with existing mounting holes on cart, I believe . . .

Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
Are you converting your cart, or was it a controller cart to begin with?

Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
His cart is an early controller cart.
The SPM48500 control has a bigger footprint than the stock control. So does the AXE48500, although it is a little smaller. Can you post pictures of the present set up so we can see where and how the original control was mounted? |

Absolutely !!!
As a side note... I was pulling my hair out when I started this thread. =) Here are two pictures... the first is the original configuration and the second is the solution the new controller mounting issue. |

Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
There is a crossmember in the first picture that is missing in the second? If it was in place you would have two locations to attach controller to like the original was. What am I missing?

Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
. . . it looks like the "missing" cross member was removed from upper area and lowered just above motor area . . ??

Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
I removed the second cross member, fabricated a bracket, mounted the controller to the cross member and secured the entire contraption to the frame.

Re: Mounting a SPM controller to a 92 DS
That sounds like what was needed. Sorry I could not envision what you were up against on the phone. The new SPM controller has a very broad footprint and just mounting the beast can be a challenge. Can we see a pic of the install?
