Default New FL Member - Lift/Tire Combo '01 DS

Greetings All,

I've been lurking for a while, but need some guidance.
I have an '01 Club DS, 48 volt.
Brand new Trojan 8 volts.
Bone stock.
Applications are delivering my son to school, and duty at our Cen Fla ranch.
It doesn't need to be street legal in my community.

I thought I'd find a 1-stop-shopping sticky or big thread on lift/tire combos, but it eludes me.

I am considering a Jakes/Allsports long travel in 6", and a Stretch Plastics if Scotty has any remaining. A March thread indicated they were still available.

I don't want a show piece, but a solid, functional cart for both woods and street.

I will rarely ask the cart to take me 4 miles, but don't wish to crush runtime.

I intend to upgrade as funds allow. First, lift/tires. Next is a speed upgrade, but I'm only looking for 20ish mps. Finally, I intend to rid the cart of its hideous royal blue nonsense.

Thoughts on the subsequent upgrades would also be appreciated. Options for carts appear as dizzying as anything else.

I know $$ dictate upgrades like anything else, but please share recommendations. Torque is needed, but I have flat terrain. Delivering people to stands, filling feeders, checking fences, etc.

I am a "set it and forget it" guy. I get the "disease" when it comes to firearms and cars, but will resist the cart bug (I hope).

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I also have an 01. If yours is a series cart I would highly recommend a plum quick bandit. It took mine from 13 mph to 21 and a lot more torque.

My d&d motor took me from 14mph to 28.6 and my 650 alltrax gives it enough torque to pop wheelies and climb straight up a tree for 560 bucks d&d is where its at..

Now that's impressive. Did it do that with just the motor or was it the motor and controller.

I had the controller first but it added zero mph for me. Just torque.. the motor got me my mph.
Call d&d and ask for vic. He will point you in the right direction motor wise..

Thanks for the responses all.

Highlands County.

I want to address the lift and tires first. I'm sure its been beaten to death, but can I go wrong with the allsport long travel in 6"?

Do any of the site sponsors have a lift/wheel combo I should consider?
