Sigh....brakes.

Thanks!
When you start getting fast, you need to upgrade those oem brakes!

I just got a good deal on some high speed gears (thanks to this forumn) and plan on putting disk brakes on the rear this summer. I'm already at 30+ without the new 6:1 gears installed, so yeah, new brakes are in the future for sure.

Steve,

You beat me to the gears! I thought about installing them on my Precedent with the Executioner and having the fastest cart in the next six counties. You are going to be QUICK!

Cool Re: Are Plum Quick motors loud?

If it was my cart and had a 400 to 700 amp controller in it I would think real hard on swaping over to a electric F/R contactor. The up front cost is a little more but the long haul rewards are well worth it.
I don't care who's beefy F/R cam you buy you still have those 2 little tiny screws that all the juice has to flow through.

This is a old regular F/R cam for a Club car. The 2 small screw with washers is all that flows the high amp juice.

Here is a F/R contactor and it can handle 400 amp's all day + all you do is flip the switch.

This is my first cart, so I'm just running 20" tires so I can tell the difference when I go to larger tires (23"). I haven't had a chance to GPS my speed yet, but it feels about 22-25 mph, the torque is very impressive! With stock suspension, I had to notch the upper shock mount because the back of the motor would hit when I hit bumps (quick fix), no problem if the cart has been lifted.
As far as what I would change? I have a 1990 CC DS that I installed a complete 48v solid state electronics, 2 gauge wires, w/700 amp controller, and digital volt meter from Scottyb. I would do the same thing again. As soon as the batteries are broke in, it's going 6" lift, 23" tires and BRAKES, UPGRADED BRAKES on all 4!

As for what Andy4639 said, this is what I did on my 1990 CC DS. I used an EZGO F/R switch on the dash.

Sorry for getting off topic . @Doug, ya my top end is gonna explode. I really wanted 8:1s, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got!

I just hope my loss of low end torque is not gonna be a dissapointment. I have more than I need right now, so we shall see. I'm pretty sure my cart will be the fastest "sparky" around.
