Are Plum Quick motors loud?

I am debating between the Executioner and Assassin.

We hunt hogs and coyotes with PVS14s in a stock electric right now, and I don't know if the upgraded motors add much volume to the cart.

We do the same thing with out cart.... just can't beat the silence of a good cart!

No. Just a turboish sound as it picks up speed. I have the Executioner, but I wouldn't use that motor for mostly off road. You need a torque motor for hunting. I would call PQ and ask them what they recommend. Although the Executioner has more torque than stock, it's not enough for serious off road use.

PS: Those two motors you mentioned are very different. One is SEPEX and one is SERIES. Huge difference and not interchangeable.

I'll call them tomorrow. Cart serves ranch duties and will be on the road. Probably 50/50. Cen Florida here. Cart is an '01 Club Cart DS, 48v.

Just another note: The Executioner is a high speed motor and you can't really have it both ways (torque and speed). The faster you want to go, the less torque you are gonna have and the opposite applies as well.

If you wanna drive 30 mph off road, you need big amps (700+) and the associated high performance parts to go along with it.

I spoke with Rick. Nice fella. His recommendation is the Grizzly II.
14.5 hp torque motor. 20-23 mph with plenty of low end.
Sounds like it will fit the bill perfectly!

I think I'll put it together with one of Scottyb's controller/FR packages.

I am in S Fl also let me know how that upgrade works, are you using a 36 or 48 cart?

Its a 48v (6x8v). It'll be a month at least.
PQ doesn't stock the motor and builds when order hits. Takes 2 weeks.
Lift and tires over the next couple weeks, then ordering the motor upgrade.

Mike_sfl, I have the Grizzly II with 8/6V, 700 amp controller. It hit the road about a week ago, so I'm still braking in the batteries. It does have a lot of torque and pretty good speed. I've been riding through the neighborhood and a little off road, up and down hills. My next step, upgrade the brakes, it's a most!

I couldn't find a thread on the Grizzly...nor anything with google. I understand you haven't done much offroading yet, but what are your impressions?
Tire size?
What speed are you getting on the street?
Anything you'd change?
Sigh....brakes.
