Default Club Car IQ upgrades what should I get

I am new to golf carts but, I am fairly mechanical, so I will be able to do most if not all of the upgrades.

Last August I purchased a 2003 48 volt club car DS serial number is AQ0316-273748
So far the mods that have been done are
Jakes 6" lift
22" tires
Heavyduty rear Leaf springs
New Batteries.

The cart will be used for a hunting cart in Western, Pa so torq. Is a must, but speed doesn't matter.

What do I need and what should I get?

you will need to get a bigger contoller (400 amps min) , then a heavy duty f&R switch followed up with 4 gauge wire set .

Yeah I knew I needed the Controller I talked to Scotty B about a 500 watt controller, 2 ga. wires and an upgraded torque motor, I was under the impression with the IQ I did not need an upgraded F/R. I'm looking for actual parts / places to purchase from people that have actually done this to their carts, Scott seemed very knowledgeable but I'd like to do some comparison shopping and some homework. I don't want to spend money I don't need to but I also don't want to have to upgrade this stuff again in 6 or 8 months

Thanks
Gary

Call Robby at PQ he can tell you the way to go as far as motor for torque.
Myself I'm a series cart guy and u can get a lot more out of a series cart than u can a IQ.
I have gutted several IQ and made them series and use just about all the factory wiring in the cart. It is expensive up front but well worth the end results.

Went with Scottyb 500 controller, 400 solenoid, 2 ga. cables with stock motor on my 09 IQ hunting cart. What torque you will be surprised.

Like I said I'm new to the whole cart thing, I thought there are more advantages to having an IQ then disadvantages?

What would the cost be to switch everything over to a series cart and what advantages would I truly see? I'm not going to race this and I only travel about 1/10 mile at the most on the road so speed is not a need for me.

Thanks
Gary

500 amps, 2 awg wires, 400 amp solenoid and torque motor of your choice. I like Plum Quick for motors.

Do your homework on your choice of controllers. With Alltrax you can change settings via a laptop computer, with Curtis you get one program for free and every additional program requires a pull and send to FSIP for programming. I had some issues getting my programming 100%, but they did not charge for the 2nd programming.

I am very happy with my Curtis 500 amp control. I went with Curtis because, at the time, people were having issues with choppy starts on IQs with Alltrax. I talked to some engineers in the business and chose Curtis.

Things may be different now, so do your homework. Being able to program from your own garage is a huge factor to consider.

Good luck.

After talking with some people on here I have decided to convert my cart to a series cart. I just have not decided on which controller or motor brand yet, or which amp controller l'm going to use (500 or 700)

I live in western Pa so we will be climbing some moderate hills.
