Club Car Precedent HD solenoid wiring?
I have a 2004 Club Car Precedent. I am upgrading to a DCX400IQ controller and 4ga wiring. I am told I need a new solenoid. A White Rodgers 586 type? If this is the one I need how to I wire it? The two smaller wires are blue and blue/white.
Thanks, Jordan |

Re: Club Car Precedent HD solenoid wiring?
Looking at a Precedent wiring diagram the small blue is solenoid coil + and the small blue/white is coil -. These are attached to the small terminals of the solenoid and a 1N5408 3A diode attached across the terminals with the silver band on the blue wire side. The 4 ga wires are attached to the large terminals with a 470 ohm 10W resistor across the two large terminals. The resistor is bi-polar so it can be fitted either way round. It doesn't matter which way round you attach the small wires as long as you get the diode correctly orientated.
