Free Magnet Speed Hack 27 MPH 02 IQ

Hey guys I hope all is well,

I found a post from 2012 about some guy who was trying to remove his magnet and half broke off. The remainder magnet was secure so he just reinstalled the sensor and the cart went from 15mph to 19mph. So what the heck I thought I would try this. I'm trying to flip this cart so more speed helps. I removed the passenger tire and the inner wheel well, then removed 1 screw that secures the sensor wire. I then popped off the sensor, I then used a screwdriver to remove/pry off the magnet. The magnet is a plastic material so I just used my ziz wheel grinder to cut out 45%? I guess this fools the cart that is going slower, from 4 pole magnet to a 2 pole? I then super glued the remainder back on. Max down hill was 15 mph, the same run it maxed out (1500 feet) 27mph no BS. Max up that same hill was 15mph now 17mph. Regen is gone I guess. I don't see why anybody coudn't do this with any type of magnet.

You got a camera cause you posted pics of the magnet. If it was my cart and it did 27 mph after I broke the magnet I would had to have a picture of the gps speed and posted it too. Where's the gps picture?

Like I said no BS 27MPH take it for what its worth. I cut the magnet off 45% not broke, glued back on, it only sits secure in one place. I did a re run with fat neighbor it only did 25 MPH down hill this time (1500' apx) I also reinstalled my roof after painting. 1st run no roof. Prob some wind drag with roof. It only did 15MPH going up long hill this time. The cart is stock with 8"rims and knobby tires.

Why would I have 267 post since 2008 and enjoy this forum if my findings are BS. I work 2 jobs and enjoy tinkering with carts.

Obviously you enjoy the forum and want to share this find with other members. I don't think that anyone would even bother to post pics otherwise.

It would be interesting if someone else cuts their magnet and tries to repeat this test.

Well throughing your motor out of balance is not my idea of a fix.

The magnet is not a moving part so I would be interested if you explain how it would throw the motor out of balance.

I just did a rerun 3 times without the fat neighbor, 27mph down hill, 17mph uphill & 19mph on the flat. Battery pack reads 50.3 when done. I see no issues with imbalance because magnet is attached to very end of shaft and weighs no more than a beertab!

So you broke/cut the magnet. Now the cart has no motor breaking/regen.

That is all.

This post is misleading, if you had a longer/higher hill your max speed would also be higher.

What speed code does your controller have? <---- this is how you gain speed more amps...

As far as the BS statement/gps picture... I dont think its a big deal. I could roll a tire down a big hill and get it going faster then 27MPH if the hill was steep/long enough.
