I'm trying to figure out why my key is always hot so I'm following the wires from my key through the light then down under. I have 48 volts to the batt light when the key is on and nothing on the out terminal of the light. The key does kill the voltage, however the cart still runs. Dont know how they bypassed the key. Any ideas where to check? I have 3 little one's and I need to be able to use the key.

Thanks again

I believe the key is working. I get 0 volts out when the key is off and 48 when on.

Does the cart run? Does the key switch work?
The light is connected to the OBC on the cart...
The OBC tells it when to come on.

I would cut the ends off the wire connectors and put new ones on, and make sure the spades are clean. Heat is a sign of resistance.

. . . by your statement "key is always hot", I assume you mean that the cart runs without turning the key "on", and not that the key itself is physically hot?
