Default Slow speed problems.

I had a local dealer pick my cart up and take it in to up the speed. He says he put it at 4, but when he brought it back it was still only doing 14 mph (I tested it with GPS before he took it and when he brought it back). Not only did he not increase the speed, he broke our windshield and tried to replace it with a scratched and scraped one. I am not a happy camper right now. He is trying to blame it on the speed sensor, but we had that replaced last fall, and when I talked to the guy that replaced that he said no chance it was bad. What should I do? I paid this guy to make my cart faster and it still at the same speed and now we have to wait for him to buy us another windshield. He wants us to buy a new speed sensor at what he can buy it for, but I don't think that was the problem. I feel very used right now. Help?

Is the dealer an authorized CC dealer? With speed code 4, you should get around 19.6 mph on flat ground with fully charged batteries. How old are your batts?
That sounds like a bad situation. Also, do a speed sensor test to check the sensor. It's a sticky above...

Turns out he didn't know anything, only reads a 3. My husband is so mad, we paid this guy, he broke our windshield and the cart is still only going 14 mph. Bad day for us.

He had it all the way up on the cart while hauling it, cracked it down the middle. He gave us another one, scratched and with clear plastic, our was tinted. He is supposedly going to order us another one, but I highly doubt it. My husband didn't know I paid him, now he is really mad! I am going to their shop tomorrow, see what he didn't do and to make sure we get another windshield. If not, we will cancel the check and eat the loss and buy our own windshield. I have the worse luck when it comes to this stuff. Has anyone heard of the speedy link? I will search the site.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. It's always best to let the "dealer" have a stab at making things right. If/when that doesn't work out, let us know who he is so we can hook 'em, clean, and fry him!

What type of cart do you have and year?
I would just install speed code 4, which will get you 19.6 mph.
Speedy links will get you the same, but run about $20 more...

. . . you still do not say if it was an authorized CC dealer that you took the cart to . . . my local CC dealer can not add speed code 4 in one visit as there is lag time for him to get the code from CC . . .

I'm starting to think he was NOT a CC dealer and didn't know what i was talking about. I have an 08 CC Precedent. There is a shop up north that does this all the time, I guess I will go there.
