Ok cool.
Do you have a Scotty meter on your cart and do you like it?

Yes, I do and I do. The trim piece is well worth the money. Your cutout does not have to be exact with the trim and it is a very simple and secure installation.

Correct on the trim finish it is stainless steel.
I did not save the instructions but they were easy to follow and I remember there being a section describing the key switch connection.
The following is from Scottyb(carts unlimited) web site:
A Simple 2 wire connection
makes the user friendly meter a simple install for any level enthusiast or mechanic.
Just trace the meter on any flat surface and cut the hole out
then pop the meter in and slide the security clip on the backside.
It's that EASY!

2 small 18 gauge wires will suffice. The connections are marked + and -
The + lead goes to the battery pack positive and the - lead goes to the battery main negative.
That's it ! Or follow the easy install instruction for key-switch on & off.

Ok nobogez and Jed, thanks for the opinions and info.
I think I will get a Scottyb meter with the square stainless bezel.
