He also said that I can Run this motor with the stock contoller. Should I upgrade or is it not worth the cost. Thanks in advance for the help.
Drifter II Club Car 48 volt IQ 10 spline 14 HP High Torque motor (45% increase in torque over stock motor with stock controller), speed estimated 18-20 mph ( with stock controller ), for MAX torque use 500 amp controller, HD Solenoid, 2ga. complete wire set, very good battery pack.

Based on the terrain (hilly) that I am attempting to use this hunting cart for, I am probably going to upgrade the controller to get the most torque. I want to do this right the first time. The outfit building my cart does the D&D motors. I dont know weather to go with the pq, d&d or emp. With that said, I need to move quick as my cart will be ready in a week or two. minus the motor of course.
Rick gave me your info..............been very busy, sorry for the delay getting with you...
I'll answer here..........(gray controller) Excel cart, you can run the Drifter II with stock controller (gray or black) black being standard IQ controller, the difference being with the gray controller you'll keep regen braking.....black controller regen braking will be removed. For best results you can use a 500 amp controller, but....you'll need to change to IQ controller harness (check with the dealer for the controller company...to see if the controller will work with the Excel harness, you might not need the EX to IQ harness)...I would also use the HD solenoid, 2 ga. wires and Top brand battery pack.
Right now I'm running behind with builds........your looking at 2 weeks or so, I see that your cart will be done in a week or so......your cart builder I see uses D&D.............that would be a good choice for your time frame and the fact they have great products.
Hope this helps.......
