Precedent battery cable lenght

What is the "preferred length of the battery cables on a precedent with 6ea 8v batteries? I have seen 14", 15" and 16"..

3 at 11 inches
2 at 18 inches
2 at 24 inches
2 at 26 inches
1 at 7 inches.
I thought I had used 17 ft and bought 20 or 21. Clearly my math is off after I measured each one. This is the cable length before they are stripped and lugs installed.

Hacleme, that is after a tub conversion, so someone else's might be f=different depending on how they convert. Also, your cable do not allow removal of center cover unless you remove a bat cable. It also depends on how you orient your bats.
Bottom line, you just need to measure your own application.

When I installed my 2 guage I made sure I had room to remove filler caps and center console cover.

Ok, I am referring to a "standard" battery position. I failed to look at his pic.....

These are my cable lengths, cut size before lugs:
2 - 17 inch
2 - 14 inch
1 - 10 inch

That adds up to 6ft so there is no waste.
