Default Speed link on pre IQ carts

My 2000 cart has the three wire pig tail coming off the motor, Run/Tow switch and what looks like a power drive plus regen 2 style control. Is there any reason why the speed link will not work on mine. All I can get out of them is try it and if it doesn't work send it back. Has anyone on here tried it on a pre-IQ cart with Regen and did it work. Thanks Al

Speedy links, speed magnets and the like will not work on Regen Carts. No need to try. Only a controller and or a motor upgrade will help.

Pre-IQ carts don't go into limp mode when the speed sensor is disconnected. Un-plug it. Instant speedy link. Don't expect greatness. All it'll do is remove the regen braking. The top speed of these cars is similar to that of a turtle.

Well unplugged the speed sensor and picked up 2MPH. Not bad I guess...Looks like buying speed is going to cost anywhere from $75 -$100 @ 1 mile per hour.
