Drove in reverse at a fairly slow speed and in about 45 seconds it stopped-reverse buzzer stayed on. Let off pedal completely, then accelerated again in reverse. Ran in reverse for about 1 minute until it stopped again, reverse buzzer stayed on. Put it in forward and drove for 30 seconds to the shop without
incident. What do you think?

Pull up the floormat by removing the four T-40 Torx screws and lifting out the rubber mat. Remove access door by pulling up. Un-Plug the Two-Pin connector from the MCOR. It's beneath the accel pedal. Use a Paper-Clip as a jumper wire and jump the two wires together in the two-pin connector. As soon as you do this, the solenoid should click. Drive the car and see if it still cuts out. I'm gonna say it won't. This bypasses the internal microswitch in the MCOR and indicates a malfunction. The MCOR should be replaced.

Ok, I'll give it a try and let you know what happens. By the way, do you have a photo of the MCOR in the cart? Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately the MCOR in the picture won't help you. Your car is a Precedent and it uses a different MCOR than a DS model.
