Default club car slow

well this is a long story but my grandmother has electric club car and it is SUPER SLOW. and if there is any incline to the road its on, it wont go up a small hill or bump, if its downhill it goes ok. but my gaser ezgo will run circles around it.

we have replaced all batteries in it, (i thnk it was 6 of them) and it did not fix it at all.

sad part is the cart is 3 hours from where i am currently at, so i dont know specificaly what year it is , but i know its older, my guess is early 90's model.

any suggestions at what to look for when i get a chance to look at it?

it will last forever on battery right now, its just super super slow.

That cart should have the solenoid resistor coil system...
To make it faster, you could upgrade it to a solid state 48v system and even use your 36v motor, which will yield more speed and torque.

Basically, yes. It was engineered for golf. 10-12 mph was the target speed. and as they age they will run slower uphill. The electronics and amperage handling system is 20 years old.
P.S.
If you ask grandma about it, she's probably fine with it being slow.

it wont even go threw her yard thats how slow it is LOL... ill look into the solid state drive system and see what it cost. i kinda figured it was a speed controller going bad or something but i dont know enough about the electirc ones at all, thanks for the info!

It could be bad solenoids if its the older club car with 5 located behind the batteries near the rear axle. Get the serial # located above the top of the floor mat and below the dash cubbie hole on the passenger side. Post your findings and we can help more.
