New Alltrax and Solenoid now major issue.
Ok I've got a 2007 Precedent that I just replaced the Controller with a Alltrax 400 and new Solenoid. Of Course it was immediately jumpy but not too horrible. I was going to try to get a serial cable to adjust it out and then replace MCOR, if it wouldn't adjust out.
I've only played maybe three rounds of golf and last week on a short run it got even more jumpy or worse. My boy took to the range this morning and bang stopped and when you hit the gas in forward or reverse it shutters real hard but won't move. Not an inch, It has power but no go just hard shutter. So what do you guys think??? Really disappointed right now and have no clue where to start or just take it to a dealer or what my next step is. It almost feels like the gear is stripped or something in the motor but I don't know, just a hard power shutter when the gas is hit. |

First check the battery pack at rest and under load when you try to go what does the pack voltage drop to? If the batteries are good under load and all the hi amperage cables are tight, then you might have a motor problem.
Tell us about the rest of the cart, any other mods besides controller and solenoid? What controller, what solenoid? |

No other mods what so ever, everything is stock except for 10" rims. I will check the pack, when I get it back and let you know. Could the original jumpy issue cause a motor issue?

Re: New Alltrax and Solenoid now major issue.
Ok, small update I checked the battery pack and it was reading 53 volts under a load. Not much of a load because it's not going anywhere just trying too.
Now how do we determine what we're dealing with motor, hub or I guess it could still be mcor. Before the install of the Alltrax, didn't have a jumpy problem and keep it mind it got worse over a short amount of time. Very frustrating to update a controller only to tear something up so any thoughts or tips greatly appreciated. |

Put the old controller in and see if it works, that could rule out a few things, woukd then think it is either a controller failure or possible mcor.
You could also hook up the computer to the controller and check throttle input when stepping on go pedal. |

Re: New Alltrax and Solenoid now major issue.
Old controller was shot when I replaced with the alltrax, so that's not an option. You really think it could still be a mcor issue alone. It is trying to go a little and does move a little before settling and starting trying to move again. If feels like it did when the jumpy started but it would jump then settle a couple times then take off, now it just won't go ahead and take off.

Re: New Alltrax and Solenoid now major issue.
At this point I would do two things. First I would hook up my computer and see the throttle response. If It is showing throttle I would think the mcor is not causing the problem. Then I would call Alltrax and see if they thought it could be a controller issue because they would fix it or replace it at no cost.
I replaced my mcor when I got my Alltrax and all jerkiness went away. So if you were willing you might consider getting a new mcor anyway even if it is not the cause of your problem. Also, others have had luck removing the mcor and cleaning the terminals, you might try that. |
