2004 precedent charger question
I burned thru a $600 pack of 48V batteries in less than 2 years and the battery seller says I OVERCHARGED THEM ????? I now have a new pack but they do not fully charge according to my hydrometer-will only float 3 balls-and I have checked it's accuracy on a friends batteries and It floats 4 balls just fine. The battery people tell me my charger is screwed up?? I have a digital voltmeter on the dash and it shows the charger goes up it 62.1 to 63.3 and shuts off and the voltmeter drops to 52.1 or so but the cells still only will float 3 balls. Who or what is my problem. Some say my OBC is shot others my charger. The Club car manual says shortly after charging begins the charger will shut off in order to run a self-diagnostic program(ammeter will drop to zero). Charging will resume in a few moments (ammeter returns to previous rate of charge). This will be repeated at one and two hours into the charge cycle. My charger does not do this---problem in OBC or charger? Any help will be appreciated.
