Time for batteries, what group/size?
Still running original batteries but it's getting so they charge longer then I spend driving. Other than cc dealer, where/what should I be looking for? Cart has 4 12v batts.

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
Have you considered converting to 6- 8v batts?:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-part-1-a.html Trojan is said to be the leader, and US and Interstate (same company) a close second... |

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
I have read a little about the conversion, but I'm not too sure what the advantage would be? If someone could give me the "fisher-price" explanation that would be great.

Huh, ok, and if I understand what I've read, OBC & charger remains the same? How much difference is between the Precedent write up & a DS?

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
Well, I just got a price on the 12v from Interstate $230 each and a week to get them
He looked a little confused when asked about the 8v. This is the one he quoted- http://www.interstatebatteries.com/c...2VGCUTL+models |

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
CC dealer has 12v Trojans for $185. Can anyone tell me how involved 6 8v fit and any mods needed?

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
There is a sticky in the sticky section.
I think you would want to verify the DS battery Bucket is tyhe same as the precedent or do some measuring of your bucket to make sure they will fit. Maybe someone who has done it on a ds would chime in, or maybe start a new thread. Anyway the conversion is simple, just a little cutting of plastic, I used a roto zip. No other mods except my 500 amp controller, new motor and 400 amp controller all installed at the same time. Same OBC and everytrhing working fine. Added a pic so you will get the idea of how they fit. |

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
Thanks Speedchaser, the DS doesn't have the plastic bucket. It's just an open aluminum rack. I've search the forums high & low and can't find anything on doing it to a DS.

Re: Time for batteries, what group/size?
You might ask Tahoe Dawg if they made a kit to convert the DS. Sorry I just do not know about the DS.
